had a little gig last night, setting up and taking care of the essentials for a party in an Art Studio out in Manhattan.

the Artists had thousands of antique's in his apartment, so much history in one place.

The studio was an old piano depository at one point, this was the last one to remain. A musician actually started playing music off of this one.

Indian, African, African Aemrican, even Eastern inspired.

There was even a performance!

Blick art store was having a graffiti contest, the winner would get a $100 gift card , and they were raffling off a set of prisma markers, which I wanted but didn't get!

There were some cool guys, some kids from off the street who had no business doing there, and some cheaters using stencil art.

Luckily, We were allowed to take the used Canvases home. which was cool, especially fitting them into the J train.

Day 3 in Tokyo, headed to Shinjuku. sore throat, pink eye, pain in the stomach, and it was super freaking hot!

Also checked out "Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0" on this Day. super freaking awesome! japanese movie theatre seats are reserved, every seat is a good seat, the screen is curved and the audience is super quiet!! next time your in town, check out the Wal9 cinema in shinjuku!

Rainy Sunday's are good for something after all! after work, some coworkers and I spontaneously decided to walk on downtown to the movie theatres.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine was pretty damn entertaining! albeit the CGI was sloppy at times, some slow motion shots were campy, and Hugh Jackman acts nothing like Wolverine, the Origins aspect was awesome. Leiv made a badass Sabertooth, and young Cyclops was spot-on: finally they do Scott some Justice!!!!!!

I dont really see the point in it, when has a peaceful protest ever worked in NYC?? you have to fucking riot and punch cops and do all this other stuff just to make the paper! anyways, this was an hour into it....

I hope it works out, shit, I could use that money towards a PS3 or some food in my stomach, and seeing as how the metrocards are shooting up as well, who couldn't use some more spare change....

My third favorite Anime of all time(right behind Akira and Ghost in the Shell), Evangelion, is getting ready to drop another film from their Rebuild series. this time the title is Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance... that a kick ass title...

What I'm looking forward to the most has to be the new Angels. In the first rebuild we had Sachiel, Samshel and God-Tier Ramiel (I cant sum up that final fight with words)

as you can see in this line graph, over the 6 years of google searches the graph covers, Akira has been the dominant figure. I believe the drastic spike in the blue Ghost in the Shell line during 2004 would relate to the 2004 release of Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, one of my favorite films. It is my opinion that with more information concerning the live action remake of Akira with Leonardo Dicaprio, ghost in the shell will be left in the DUST.
well, spieldberg wants to adapt ghost in the shell as live action as well, so thats an unpredictable variable.

I expected Ghost in the shell to be alot more popular than Akira, seeing as how Ghost in the Shell has been progressing wonderfully, with the 2 seasons of the television show, a DVD and pay-per-view release of "stand alone complex: solid state society", so yea. just throwing it out there.

I had a big scare over the weekend when a knife was pulled on me by a homeless man. That's when shit gets real. when you think things like this only happen in the news or in movies, no, everyone is susceptible to random acts of violence. or life. and you can get all caught up with faith, you can prey and hope it never happens to you or a loved one, but we have no control over what happens in our lives really. My top 10 Favorite Films of all time

1. AKIRA- Bright, extremely violent, nostalgic, ground breaking, this is my favorite movie of all time. Teens in biker gangs killing each other, struggles of inferiority, and its post-apocalyptic settings, no movie ever made me feel what AKIRA made me feel the first time I saw it. I even have it tattooed on myself.

2. Ghost in the shell 2: Innocence- a tale of underage sex androids, middle aged cyborgs, and dolls, this 2 hour long animation is way too deep to understand the first time, I’m just glad such an adult story can be told through 2D animation.

3. A Clockwork Orange- Another Ultra-violent, epic film, way ahead of its time, its just so much fun to watch! I stumbled upon it way to late in my life…Something like this will never be made again…kids committing crimes.

4. KIDS- this film reminds me too much about my teenage years, not necessarily that I did the things the kids do in this movie, but all my graffiti friends did. Its way too realistic, another film that can’t be made again due to ethical and moral reasons…

5. Bowling For Columbine- I love Michael Moore’s work, although some people think he is a hack. From Roger & Me to Sicko, I can watch them all a million times. BFC is just the one I have seen the most times.

6. The Matrix- a ghost in the shell rip-off, with elements of the Terminator thrown in, I sat and watched this film on illegal cable about 6 times a day. It was just, perfectly executed! Groundbreaking stuff, with an excellent script behind it. They ruined the series when the setting went to Zion.

7. Saving Private Ryan- me and my older sister saw this movie at the theatre’s, I had no idea what I was watching. 2 minutes into the film I was sunk into my chair with my ears covered and my eyes watering, it is an incredible feat to reproduce these WWII images with such vivacity, this film haunts you for days.

8. City of God- I’m a sucker for kids committing acts of violence, so that’s a plus. Also set in Brazil, the most beautiful country in the world, its ironic that life is so rough for the characters.

9. Donnie Darko- pretentious cult classic or not, this movie is wicked. Bunnies, time portals, and jailbait girlfriends, its fun to just surf the blogs and decipher what it all actually meant. And you have to love the R.E.M song at the end…its haunting.

10. Not Another Teen Movie- Satire done right, I know every line in this movie word for word. It doesn’t take itself seriously AT ALL, and bust the chops of all the old corny teen flicks , like pretty in pink, breakfast club, and all that other crap

Damn come on dude, do you know how hard it is to be a Lupe Fiasco fan? I've been following this man for 3 years now, ever since I heard his verse on Kanye's Touch the Sky. a couple of years later and he has 1 famous hit on his belt "superstar". I HATE SUPERSTAR. It's not that its pop, its just to soft and slow for my tastes.

Bush's admission to torturing detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Is torture justified? Maybe. Do the ends justify the means? We have been safe from terrorist since 2001. At what cost? It just keeps going and going and the answers depend on ones one ethical and moral inclinations. Take what you will from this video, I just wanted to make sure you check it out.

As he strolled into the Tattoo parlor, Saru understood something wicked had gone down. In the 6 months in which he had been a patron of the "sons of anarchy tatoo and piercings", it was in no way ever this empty. No bubbly, bespectacled receptionist, no thunderous, insufferable bouncer drinking a Corona. Most notably, Pritt was nowhere to be seen.
Saru gradually paced towards the back room where he had last seen all 6 feet 130 lbs of her. She reminded him of Demi Moore in G.I Jane or Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell; A muscular, beautiful brunette, with a strong voice and a deep sense of charity. Any other person would have immediately turned Saru away on the spot.
There he stood, in the unchanged room where he was 2 weeks prior. He felt privileged to be Pritt's first client in roughly two years. Saru was stunned she would convey so many hours and so much black ink into the intricate puzzle that was now his full sleeve tattoo. Saru would spend a complete hour gawking at the jagged, M.C Escher like patterns running from his wrist to his underarm.
Saru was suddenly struck with a deep sense of dread. His legs felt bulky, his eyes shot from one part of the room to the other. His chest gave off an irregular pattern, as if he had caught one of those Asthma attacks his mother used to catch back in the days. But he had no time to reminisce. The room had been overturned. Blood splattered against the walls, the sturdy tattoo table in which he previously lay on had been broken apart. Pritt was nowhere to be found.
"Where the fuck is the phone?" he ran towards the receptionist’s desk, but to no avail. For a moment, Saru had forgotten this was a shady, gang organized tattoo spot. "Why the fuck did I ever come here in the first place!?" then he saw it, it had caught his attention like nothing before. It was a bloody footprint, smeared about 2 feet in front of him. It leads towards the bathroom.
6 feet tall, brunette, tone ripped tattooed arms sprawled across a marble floor. Pritt was dead. "Oh my god...P...who could have done this?" he cautiously walked towards her cold, unfamiliar corpse. Not wanting to be blamed for the shit that had occurred on this auspicious morning, he used some saran wrap lying next to the body to carefully divulge the woman’s face.
It did not resemble anything Human In the slightest. If it wasn't for the dated tattoos and the black leather tights, Saru might have tricked himself into believing the woman he met not a year ago was laying there deceased. Her eyeball socket was hollow. Her nose caved in. Distinct crimson and orange blood pooled in the exposed jaw. Saru was appalled. He took five or six steps before his vomit covered the bathroom floor. He couldn’t think of what to do or who to call, but Saru knew he had to get out of there immediately. It was as if he felt this demonic force behind him.
Saru dashed out of the parlor so fast his mind couldn't process right. He did manage to catch a glimpse of his right arm reaching for the door handle of the tattoo parlors entrance. It took him three attempts until he actually grasped the damn thing. That's when it caught his attention. His eyes finally stopped jittering from side to side. It was unmistakable. Under his wrist, hidden between the fresh tattooed lines, there lay two words. Help Me. Saru ran with all his might...there was an evil air around the entire parlor. He knew it would follow him where ever he was headed.

no its not. Tatsunoko VS Capcom is another cross generations game created by Capcom, this time with the anime-production company Tatsunoko. Yea, I never heard of them Either but they are responsible for such great and classic anime shows like Speed Racer, Casshern, G-Force, and (the one I am most exited about) KARAS!

heres a little clippity clip.

I hear its button scheme on the Wiimote is such that anybody can pick up a remote and enjoy. this is a big plus for Me, because ilove Street Fighter but hate getting my ass kicked by somebody who has the freaking combo's memorized.
Big points to Capcom for bringing in some characters who have been shunned too many times in the past, they could have easily shoved every SFII character in there, but kept it modest with just Ryu and Chun-Li. Also Mega-Man Legends! woot! (I think i am the only person who even likes MML).

Cant wait for this one to arrive Stateside. later.

My friend calls me up the other day and asks if i want to check out some Mac & Cheese spot in Manhattan. my first thought was (._.) but then he mentioned that he had a coupon so i though bring it on. well the coupon didn't apply to my order, but i must say, Supermac is a unique little spot in manhattan. If your a Mac & cheese aficionado , then look no further. the mac comes complete with all the toppings, bread crumbs and spices and whatnot. but if your just looking to grab something to eat, your better off walking a couple more blocks for some Go Go Curry. Supermac's located a few short blocks south of Penn Station, at 348 7th Avenue (in between 29th and 30th) and its so small you might miss it if it wasnt for the sign out front that reads [MAC & CHEESE ---->]

and it couldn't be more fitting. thats basically all they serve. you can order a small cup of rice or a salad, and you have a choice of drinking water, root beer, or some vitamin thingy I never even heard of. the Mac comes in a fancy gourmet plate with a handle and its delicious :) I couldnt even finish it all, they need to lower they're prices and add some side dishes to that menu! the small plate costs about 7 dollars and the large plate is about 9.

check it out,but only if your really curious, or love mac&cheese.

KAIKAIKIKI!

Murakami is at the Brooklyn museum until July 13, 2008 and if you haven't checked it out yet I suggest you grab a buddy and a camera and head on over there immediately!! This is the most amazing art I have ever seen in my life, everything from the gigantic statue sitting in the entrance, to the mecha-anime girl inside, its mind-blowing...I just wish I had taken some LSD so I can go apeshit haha! From floor to ceiling its mesmerizing, vibrant colors, incredible detail, I wish I could have snapped some photos inside but those stingy bastards wouldn't let me. : ( so I took picks outside.

The center piece of the exhibit has to be the mecha-anime girl, 3 life size figures, one a regular girl, the next she's transforming into something, and the last she is now a jet fighter. I was blown away, with details down to the very tip of her fingers. It reminded me of an Evangelion Pilot in their plug suits.

Murakami is the man...I have to get my hands on some merchandise now! Check out the exhibit!

UNIQLO!

Uniqlo has to be my number one favorite store in the city right now. Reasonable prices, cool threads and chill outfits, its a welcome change from all the colorful kicks, tight Levi’s and hypebeast getups the “cool kids” are wearing on SoHo. Uniqlo is a Japanese retail store, and the SoHo store is the flagship, the only Uniqlo in the U.S. right now.
The anime tees are awesome; even though they are shows from the 60's-70’s, they are cheap and comfy. Careful buying the jeans. Make sure you read the labels, I ended up buying a pair of 70 dollar "super skinny's" I look like 2 broomsticks in them.
If you pass by, pick up an issue of Uniqlo Paper no. 4, its like a catalog of the new clothing season, interviews with artists, and amazing excerpts from books and essays about Japan, new York, and London. Great read when your on the L train just wasting time, on the cover is Tadanobu Asano from the vomit-inducing "Ichi the Killer" if you haven't seen the flick, I suggest you pick it up RIGHT NOW. And a pair of nipple clamps...also Chloe sevigny from Kids, another great movie.

Warner Bros. will turn anime artist Katsuhiro Otomo's six-volume graphic novel masterwork "Akira" into two live action feature films, the first of which is being fast tracked for release in summer 2009, reports Variety.

WB, which had the "Akira" rights several years ago, only to let them lapse and then recapture them in a spirited bidding battle, is planning a twin-bill that the filmmakers have described as Blade Runner meets City of God.

The studio has closed a seven-figure rights acquisition deal with Kodansha, and has set Ruairi Robinson to direct a script by Gary Whitta (Book of Eli). Andrew Lazar's Mad Chance will produce with Appian Way's Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson.

Each feature will be comprised of three of the books in Otomo's series. The drama takes place in "New Manhattan," a metropolis that was rebuilt after being destroyed 31 years ago.

Im back to tell you all about my first day of school! yay!
first, my mommy woke me up briight and eaarrly to make sure i had a good breakfast
then it was a 30 minute train ride to my new school. it was so scawwy but I managed to make it to class on time :)

okay enough, all I had was one poetry class today, and i felt so damn out of place, everyone was picking up things in poems, like, out of the fricking blue! AN APPLE IS NOT A METAPHOR FOR GOD, AND A FRUIT BAT IS NOT THE DEVIL!!! hahaaa oh man...college kids are so...existential.

picked up a new printer on the way from school , HP for 100 bucks, could've bought something cheaper but, I spoil myself. hanging out at a friends apartment, picked up some new shoes, Bapes....

I can already see the late night papers and the long shifts at work with my eyes behind my head, but at least im in school again.

got ya. well im going to Brooklyn College now, and i couldn't be happier! its my older sisters alma madre . the only problem is getting there. i would have to catch the 3 train and switch to the 2 train. which means that aroun 3-5 o clock i will have to be wary of thieves and hoodlums and fights. why does life have to be so hard on me?

well it seems I'm going to have to find a new job, because this current one i have is not paying me enough for all the hard work i have given them for the last 2 and a half years. later assholes.

umm...oh yea. i bought some more crap:

Evangelion Soul of Soft Vynil Figure, its only 20 bucks and its real big and pretty and modeled after the new Evangelion Movie. downside: its made out of soft rubber, meaning its really cheap, but from far away you could never tell :)

WATCHMEN GRAPHIC NOVEL: what a good book!!! i cant believe this hasn't been made into a movie...yet... 2009 here i come :)

i was first introduced to anime back in the 90's when the sci-fi channel would air anime on saturdays. shows like galaxy express 999 and armitage were the bomb, also AKIRA!!! i cant wait to see what heavy hitters they will suprise us with,

Ghost in the shell 2 : man machine interface - great art, almost 75% of the book is digitally illustraded, but that doesnt make up for the confusing plot, the best parts are the pages that are in black and white, really...

death note manga is getting pretty boring.. but i want to make it to the END!!!! they need to concentrate on my man Mello more, he's alot cooler.

Evangelion manga is out yet again!!!! yess , you know hwo Eva books come out every 2 years , big bummer , but good thing i jumped on the bandwagon while its going because these books are pretty good. I really like where they are going with Kaworu in this retelling of Evangelion.,

sorry readers, lifes been pretty busy.... and not a good busy either

i bought a metal gear solid figure, olga gurlukovich( sp?) for 7 bucks at forbidden planet

copped me a supreme starter cap, a stussy shirt for the summer!! woohoo. but my camera is broken so sorry no pics :(
