My top 10 Favorite Films of all time

1. AKIRA- Bright, extremely violent, nostalgic, ground breaking, this is my favorite movie of all time. Teens in biker gangs killing each other, struggles of inferiority, and its post-apocalyptic settings, no movie ever made me feel what AKIRA made me feel the first time I saw it. I even have it tattooed on myself.

2. Ghost in the shell 2: Innocence- a tale of underage sex androids, middle aged cyborgs, and dolls, this 2 hour long animation is way too deep to understand the first time, I’m just glad such an adult story can be told through 2D animation.

3. A Clockwork Orange- Another Ultra-violent, epic film, way ahead of its time, its just so much fun to watch! I stumbled upon it way to late in my life…Something like this will never be made again…kids committing crimes.

4. KIDS- this film reminds me too much about my teenage years, not necessarily that I did the things the kids do in this movie, but all my graffiti friends did. Its way too realistic, another film that can’t be made again due to ethical and moral reasons…

5. Bowling For Columbine- I love Michael Moore’s work, although some people think he is a hack. From Roger & Me to Sicko, I can watch them all a million times. BFC is just the one I have seen the most times.

6. The Matrix- a ghost in the shell rip-off, with elements of the Terminator thrown in, I sat and watched this film on illegal cable about 6 times a day. It was just, perfectly executed! Groundbreaking stuff, with an excellent script behind it. They ruined the series when the setting went to Zion.

7. Saving Private Ryan- me and my older sister saw this movie at the theatre’s, I had no idea what I was watching. 2 minutes into the film I was sunk into my chair with my ears covered and my eyes watering, it is an incredible feat to reproduce these WWII images with such vivacity, this film haunts you for days.

8. City of God- I’m a sucker for kids committing acts of violence, so that’s a plus. Also set in Brazil, the most beautiful country in the world, its ironic that life is so rough for the characters.

9. Donnie Darko- pretentious cult classic or not, this movie is wicked. Bunnies, time portals, and jailbait girlfriends, its fun to just surf the blogs and decipher what it all actually meant. And you have to love the R.E.M song at the end…its haunting.

10. Not Another Teen Movie- Satire done right, I know every line in this movie word for word. It doesn’t take itself seriously AT ALL, and bust the chops of all the old corny teen flicks , like pretty in pink, breakfast club, and all that other crap

I freaking love this Guy.

X X
= WIN

Well, okay, I know I disowned Lupe Fiasco 2 posts below, but come on! He's been hiding for at least half a year(i did the same thing to Kenna and he replied to me with a myspace message), and just the other day he lost 4 Grammy's to a bunch of assholes who don't deserve it.

Out of left field, we get some Japanese Cartoon. =)

Post-rock faux-brit-pop. that's what they're calling it. And dont give me that bullshit about some guy named "Percival Fats" I know Lupe Fiasco when I hear him, it has Lu written all over it. Hopefully we get some Gorillaz type album with heavy social commentary, some awesome Anime artwork and whatnot. The future seems somewhat brighter =)

Here's a song

[on a side note, I had an awesome idea for a video for "Lupe fiasco- Hello/Goodbye" while on the bus the other day...sort of a mix between Linkin parks' what I've done (but much more bloodier), with the diamond effect from Madonna's "4 minutes" and some awesome military costumes throughout the ages, Lupe would be standing with a military jacket and gas mask and rapping his ass off wit ha black background and microphone coming from the sky.... don't care if you steal my idea either, hell I encourage it]

Whats Going on with Lupe Fiasco???

Damn come on dude, do you know how hard it is to be a Lupe Fiasco fan? I've been following this man for 3 years now, ever since I heard his verse on Kanye's Touch the Sky. a couple of years later and he has 1 famous hit on his belt "superstar". I HATE SUPERSTAR. It's not that its pop, its just to soft and slow for my tastes.

Now, today, on the day of the Grammy's, I still wonder why Lupe Fiasco has such little acknowledgment... at times I wish he would sell out just a liiiiitttllleee, you know, Drop us a hit or two, make a costly video for once. Damn, even Jay-z makes pop tracks every once in a while, Kanye West has gone COMPLETELY pop, and I'm still buying his albums.

Lu has made so many promises, sooo sooo many promises, its hard to even take him seriously. Concept album? where? Trilly and Truly brand clothing? Comic Book? DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THAT ALL-HIPOP CONCERT YOU DIDNT SHOW UP TO. ASS.

but whatever, its not Lu's fault he doesnt get the best beats or production money for his videos. He's a true artist, like Mos Def before him, never wanting to comply with Industry assholes. PULL A RADIOHEAD ON THE NEXT ALBUM!

Lupe, if your reading this: sell out a bit. do it for the fans. sure you think your compromising your artistic integrity, but some people just want to jam to a good ass radio track, not ponder over the ethical ramifications of reformation of Urban culture blah blah blah.

Deep words from Keith Olbermann

I viewed this 9 minute special report for the first time today during my Mass Media class. A special Report by Keith Olbermann on George W. Bush's admission to torturing detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Is torture justified? Maybe. Do the ends justify the means? We have been safe from terrorist since 2001. At what cost? It just keeps going and going and the answers depend on ones one ethical and moral inclinations. Take what you will from this video, I just wanted to make sure you check it out.

I don't believe President Obama will be placing ex-president Bush on trial any time soon, but maybe he should. To push forward the idea that no one is above the law in this country.
